The Homelab ambX @ Philips
The HomeLab at the Philips research center is a model home built to test and monitor real-world response to prototype technology. Thirty cameras and microphones record subjects as they use and interact with products for the home; then researches review the recordings to refine the products. The living room is currently configured to demonstrate ambX (pronounced “ambiex”), the successor to AmbiLight, which extends the accent lighting from around the television to throughout the room. The world of Steampunk
Sometimes there are things that are obviously popular or have a huge following and I’m just oblivious to it. Steampunk is one of those things. BMW GINA Light Visionary Model
GINA, which stands for Geometry and Functions in ‘N’ Adaptations, is shelled in a textile fabric wrapped around a carbon fiber and metal frame. This means that the skin and skeleton can bend and contract like, well, real skin and skeleton. Even the interior is skinned and modular: only the dash displays that you need at any item are available via openings. Sexy even if it’s only a concept. More Pics Here… and read more about the concept.

Sculpting with reclaimed wood
Some amazing work done by Ron va der Ende. All his work is done utilizing reclaimed wood. Supposedly he never changes the color of the wood to fit the object he’s creating! Pretty amazing stuff.
