CFR
International affairs and foreign policy website undergoes a redesign
Concentric Studio was selected by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) to complete an extensive redesign and rebuild of their website. Since 1921, CFR has been a leading nonpartisan membership organization, publisher and think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.
Our primary task was to design the overall look and feel, improve usability, accommodate new content templates and upgrade the functionality and code base of the website. We began our work by overhauling the information architecture for the templates which included articles, book reviews, interviews, and multimedia assets as well as member profiles and biographies.
After completing the wireframe templates, we began the interface design phase, developing concept designs that aligned with the identity established by the annual reports, articles and other CFR publications. Once the concept designs were refined and finalized, we extended the design to the rest of the templates.
On the development side, we had a number of initiatives underway. As the design templates were completed, we developed the front-end code and integrated the completed templates into the content management system. This was a highly collaborative process between our developers and the CFR team to get everything ready for the launch.
