Subscription-based tool for emerging and independent musicians

Billboard Magazine selected Concentric Studio to help plan and design a new online music platform called Billboard Pro, a subscription based service to help independent musicians, managers and record labels track and manage their band.  Concentric Studio was tasked with developing the identity, information architecture and interface design for the project.

Our primary focus was the creation of a user dashboard that provides audience engagement metrics, sales data, as well as airplay alerts for specific songs. The dashboard also enables subscribers the ability to create their own public profile pages and track fan engagement with these pages. Subscribers can also access special member-only editorial content such as artist profiles, Q&As and case studies covering a range of topics.

We worked closely with the Billboard Magazine team to craft the information architecture for the website, identifying the feature set and mapping it to the templates for design. With the information design phase underway, we worked concurrently to create the identity for Billboard Pro—developing a mark that could stand alongside the established Billboard Magazine branding. Once we had finalized the new identity, we began studies for the Billboard Pro website, incorporating the mark into our design concepts. After refining the selected design, we extended the look and feel to the remaining templates for implementation.
