Rodale's new website where health meets green

Rodale, an authoritative source for health, fitness, and wellness content approached Concentric Studio to work with them to redesign their corporate site. Rodale reaches more than 70 million people around the world through its category-leading media properties, trade books, subscription online properties and integrated marketing solutions. The redesign project centered around helping redefine Rodale’s online corporate presence to better articulate its ongoing work, activities and mission across all properties.

The new site was envisioned as a vital tool for communicating Rodale’s perspective and work on a range of issues such as healthy living, sustainability and the environment. For many years, Rodale has been at the forefront of corporate environmental responsibility and has promoted a philosophy of “healthy living on a healthy planet.” The mandate for the site design was an outgrowth of this philosophy and the desire to better engage and inform Rodale’s audience with pertinent information. We worked alongside Rodale’s design group to help establish a brand palette and identity, developing mood boards and color studies to set the stage for the site design.

We were also fortunate to work directly with the company’s top stakeholders in New York and Pennsylvania, incorporating their thoughts and feedback all along the way as the site took shape. Multiple design studies were developed and refined in close coordination with all members of Rodale’s project team. With the selected design concept, we extended the interface design out to several templates to accommodate updated news, video and other key site features.

Although the beta version of the corporate site has only recently launched and the Rodale team continues to add content and features, we think the new site will be a vital addition to the brand. We hope the site establishes a new voice to communicate Rodale’s mission while at the same time, inform its audience about meaningful, relevant topics of the day.
